2019 SeisComP3 Course in New Paltz, NY, September 23 – 27

This September 23 – 27, ISTI will host another one of our training courses, this time on SeisComp3 in New Paltz, NY.

We ask that interested students — and any colleagues who wish to join —

The immersive hands-on course will cover:

  • Initial installation, including database configuration
  • Station inventory, station XML, dataless SEED
  • Data acquisition from digitizers, public sources, including Seedlink bindings
  • Automatic event location bindings
  • Data export to other organizations running SeisComP3, Earthworm
  • FDSN Web Services
  • Data archiving with Seedlink and slarchive
  • Work with the SeisComP3 GUIs, including viewing event catalogs, and post-processing — picking and relocating events
  • Event Playback and system tuning
  • Troubleshooting

This course will be useful to anyone setting up, managing, tuning, or doing post-processing work on a SeisComP3 system.  See full SC3 class details here.

Spring 2017 EW Course

2017 Earthworm Course in Saratoga Springs, NY, June 5-9

This June 5 through June 9, ISTI will host another of our popular Earthworm training courses in Saratoga Springs, New York. Earthworm is the popular open source regional earthquake data acquisition and location processing system. Originally developed by the USGS, it is now maintained and moved forward by a group of developers that ISTI organizes.

In the course, we will be providing an expert’s insight into the system. You will learn tricks and tips from our decades of experience operating and programming Earthworm. You will learn how to set up regional automatic earthquake detection with the latest release of Earthworm.

This course will be useful to anyone setting up, managing, tuning, or developing for an Earthworm system.
