ISTI’s Josh Stachnik @ Astronomy & Geophysics Conference, Mongolia

ISTI seismologist, Josh Stachnik, presented Crust and Upper Mantle Structure of Central Mongolia at the Geomagnetism session of The International Conference on Astronomy & Geophysics in Mongolia, held  July 23-26, 2017.  According to the conference site, the aim was to continue the 60 years of advancement of Astronomical and Geophysical science in the country that has taken place since the Gobi-Altay earthquake in 1957.

Institute of Astronomy and GeophysicsJosh met with international scientists and academics from “ from 13 countries, including Mongolia, Russia, USA, France, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, England, Chile, Turkey, Taiwan, China,” according to SONIN.NM, and other participants at the Mongolian Universities and Geophysical Survey 2017 which was held in conjunction with the Astronomy and Geophysics conference.
