PASSCAL DB
PASSCAL DataBase System (PDB) Support
ISTI provides consulting support for clients using the PASSCAL DataBase System (PDB) The PASSCAL DataBase is a series of software tools for organizing and storing seismic data in a Relational Database from a number of data sources (including Guralp, Reftek, and Kinemetrics dataloggers). While the majority of data flowing into the PDB system comes from portable recorders, we are investigating the feasability of making this into a true real-time system for handling network feeds of data with a real SQL-based Relational DataBase. The PDB System can then be used for creating data products (including SEED), reaping/associating triggered events, grabbing events from continuous data streams, and for preparing data for post processing. It currently supports output in numerous seismic formats including PASSCAL SEGY, miniSEED and FULLSEED, DR100, SAC, and AHThe principals of ISTI were the original authors of the PDB System, and currently maintain the software for IRIS/PASSCAL . ISTI now announces that we can assist any users of the PASSSCAL DataBase in a consulting capacity. We can provide assistance ranging from Database Administration (DBA) to writing custom software for use with the PDB System. In the past this has included everything from writing new data input programs, to modifying data analysis programs.
